Reason the product is recalled

A gap may develop between the serrations on the steering shaft on the steering gear. If a gap develops this may lead to gradual loss of steering.

The hazards to consumers

If a driver cannot properly steer the vehicle, this increases the risk of accident or injury to the vehicle occupants and bystanders.
