Why the product is recalled
The cot does not comply with the mandatory Australian standard, AS/NZS 2172:2003 Cots for household use—safety requirements. The cot is missing the required label on the mattress base, which notifies consumers of the recommended mattress size, the correct use of the adjustable base, and the supplier's details.
What the hazards are to consumers
A consumer may use the incorrect sized cot mattress, which may lead to a suffocation hazard. In addition, if a consumer is unaware of how to use the adjustable base, this may pose a fall hazard to the child.
What consumers should do
Contact the place of purchase to organise for the warning label to affixed to the mattress base. Alternatively, consumers can contact Koala Securities to organise for a label and instruction sheet to be sent to them.
