What are the defects?
The coolant reserve tank cap may be clogged by plastic produced during the injection moulding process.
What are the hazards?
Under some conditions such as overheating and if the bonnet is opened, pressure inside the radiator reservoir can build up which may cause the coolant reserve tank cap to come off and hot coolant to spray out. The hot coolant could injure the operator or bystanders.
What should consumers do?
Replacement coolant reserve tank caps will be sent directly to consumers (free of charge) as parts become available, along with instructions for installation. If customers cannot wait until the replacement coolant reserve tank cap is mailed to them, they can take their existing coolant reserve tank cap to their Kubota dealer to inspect and repair (if necessary). The dealer can drill out the breather hole if needed.
