Reasons the product is recalled
The bunk bed does not comply with the Australian mandatory safety standard for bunk beds, AS/NZS 4220:1994. The standard requires that the vertical distance between the top of the guard rail and the label indicating the maximum height of the mattress must be at least 160mm.
The hazards to consumers
Inaccurate label positioning may lead to an incorrect size mattress being used on the top bunk. As a result, a child can roll over the guard rail and suffer fall-related injuries.
What consumers should do
Consumers should cease using the top bunk bed until the replacement label is affixed. Contact Le Cornu customer service on 08 8292 3300 or e-mail email@example.com to be sent a replacement maxiumum height label with instructions. The top bunk should not be used without adult supervision until the replacement label is affixed.
