Why the product is recalled
The wiring instructions were incorrect in that they stated that terminal 5 (for the trailer service brake) should be connected to the black wire (reversing signal), rather than the blue wire.
What the hazards are to consumers
If wired in accordance with the instructions, the trailer braking system would not function, possibly causing loss of control of the trailer. (The brakes would activate when reversing the trailer instead.)
