Reasons the product is recalled
Using slings with infants that are too young (less than four months), premature, low birth weight, breathing issues or not placing them within the sling correctly could lead to injury.
The hazards to consumers
Slings can pose two different types of suffocation hazards to babies. In the first few months of life, babies cannot control their heads because of weak neck muscles. The sling's fabric can press against an infants nose and mouth, blocking the babies breathing. Additionally, where a sling keeps the infant in a curled position bending the chin towards the chest restricting oxygen supply.
