What are the defects?

The tube which carries seawater into the power steering fluid cooler may break.

What are the hazards?

A breakage of the tube which carries seawater into the cooler may allow seawater to be discharged into the boat, cause the engine to overheat and put the boat at risk of swamping.

What should consumers do?

Stop using boat and contact MerCruiser dealer to arrange for boat to be inspected and, if necessary, rectified.
