Why the product is recalled
A defect in the operating software of the joystick could result in the steering helm sensor providing the Vessel's control system with an incorrect reading, and may lead to unintended steering of the vessel.

Potential loss of steering control, increasing the risk of an accident and injury.
What consumers should do
Consumers should avoid using their vessels until checked and, if necessary, a software upgrade is performed. Consumers can contact Marine Power International for instructions on conducting a self check to determine whether their product is affected by the recall or can contact their local mercury dealer to arrange for their vessel to be inspected and if necessary repaired.
