Reasons the product is recalled
The existing stainless steel washers that are used at the connection of the oil supply line to the turbocharger can allow the oil supply line to become loose. If this occurs, it is possible for engine oil to leak onto hot engine components.
The hazards to consumers
If engine oil leaks onto hot engine components it may cause odour, smoke and potentially start a fire.
What consumers should do
The customer should return their boat to an authorized Mercury dealer who will carry out rectification of issue.
