Reason the product is recalled

The passenger-side air bag inflator may have been assembled with improperly manufactured propellant.

The hazards to consumers

In the event of a collision, the inflator may rupture and cause the passenger-side air bag to deploy abnormally, increasing the risk of injury to the occupant.

What consumers should do

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Mazda to arrange to have their vehicles repaired.
