The lithium ion battery overheats and deforms the camera body.
The hazards to consumers
Melting of the protective battery cap and overheating of the battery may lead to a fire hazard.
What consumers should do
To organise for return of the affected battery and for a replacement battery to be issued, contact Nikon Australia on 1800 810 259 or by email at recall@nikon.com.au between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday (except public holidays).
