What are the defects?
Affected caravans are marked with a gross trailer mass (GTM) rating of 2600kg and above. The axle bearings are unable to support a GTM in excess of 2500kg.
If the caravans reach a GTM in excess of 2500kg, there is potential for the axle bearings to fail and the wheel to dislocate.

What are the hazards?
If the defect occurs, this may cause an accident risk that could result in serious injury to the user and other road users.
What should consumers do?
Consumers with affected caravans should contact their local Opalite Caravans dealer to arrange for replacement control arm hubs and bearings to be installed.
Consumers should either cease using their caravan or avoid overloading the caravan (in excess of 2500kg) until repairs have been completed.
