Reason the product is recalled

The affected bicycles may not meet the requirement for mandatory standard AS/NZS:1927 in relation to the Front Hub Retention Test (Appendix C), whereby the front wheel may dislodge from the front fork if the Quick Release Skewer is not properly tightened and secured.

The hazards to consumers

This may cause serious injury to the user if the defect occurs while the bicycle is in use.

What consumers should do

Consumer should stop using the affected bikes immediately and contact their nearest 99 Bikes store.

99 Bikes will fit a replacement Quick Release Skewer, which is better suited to the fit the fork drop out on the bicycle and prevent the front wheel from dislodging if the current Quick Release Skewer is not properly tightening and secured.
