Why the product is recalled
Certain model year 2014 - 2017 Scrambler XP1000 models were not calibrated to enter safe mode in the event of a stuck throttle cable. In the event of a stuck throttle cable the ECU will illuminate the check engine light but will not limit engine RPM or vehicle speed.
What the hazards are to consumers
In the event the throttle cable becomes stuck, the operator could lose control and have an accident causing injury or death.
What consumers should do
Consumers should not use their vehicle until it has been inspected and repaired by an authorised Polaris dealer.
Owners will be contacted by mail at their Polaris-registered address and instructed to contact their local Polaris dealer to arrange for an inspection and repair of the vehicle.
