Reason the product is recalled
MY2014-2018 RZR XP 1000 / XP4 1000 models have a heat shield that may not adequately shield exhaust gasses in the event of an exhaust silencer crack.
The hazards to consumers
If the exhaust silencer cracks, the heat shield may not adequately shield exhaust gasses, which could lead to melting of nearby components and pose a fire and/or burn hazard.
What consumers should do
Polaris will write and notify all affected consumers of the required action and consumers are asked to contact their Authorised Polaris Dealer to make arrangements for their vehicle to be repaired.
Consumers should stop using their vehicle until the repair has been performed.
