Why the product is recalled
The neck on the spout of the can may separate from the body, resulting in the product leaking out.
What the hazards are to consumers
If the product container comes apart at the neck during handling, it may spill and come into contact with the skin or eyes of the user, causing irritation. First aid instructions are provided on the can, and advise flushing with water for several minutes.
What consumers should do
Consumers should put on latex or rubber gloves and check the batch number of any Poly Paint Stripper 250mL cans they have, to see if the batch number starts with 9. The batch number contains 4 digits and is printed on the top of the can. If the batch number starts with a 9, still wearing the gloves, tape the lid to the can with duct tape or other similar tape, place the can in a plastic bag and in a box or carton in an upright position. Transport the can in the upright position to the nearest Bunnings store for a full refund.
