Reason the product is recalled

The products do not comply with the requirements of the mandatory standard 'Trade Practices Act 1974 - Consumer Protection Notice No.6 of 2004 - Consumer Product Safety Standard: Pedal Bicycles: Safety Requirements'.

The products do not have a rear back-pedal brake.

The hazards to consumers

In the absence of a rear back-pedal brake, children may not be able to brake sufficiently using the hand brakes, which may result in an accident and injury to the rider.

What consumers should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the bike and return it to 99 Bikes for a refund, replacement or repair.
