What are the defects?
The product, as stated on the labeling, contains 16% hydrogen peroxide, which exceeds the safe limit of 6% weight/weight as set out in the Poisons Standard 2011, in documented expert clinical advice, and in published scientific risk assessments.
What are the hazards?
Users of the goods may suffer irritation or inflammation to the gums and mouth due to high concentrations of hydrogen peroxide they contain.
What should consumers do?
Consumers who purchased the affected products should cease using them immediately. Consumers may return the products (whether unused or partially used) for a replacement product that complies with the safe limit or for a full refund.
