Reason the product is recalled

This is a recall for correction of the packaging only. The bottles have been supplied with a cap that is not child-resistant.
There is no concern regarding the quality or safety of this medicine.

The hazards to consumers

A cap that is not child-resistant will make access to the tablets easier for children. Ingestion of unprescribed potassium chloride could be harmful.

What consumers should do

If you or someone you care for is taking Span-K 600mg tablets, please return the medicine to a pharmacy so that the cap can be replaced with one that is child-resistant.

In the meantime, keep taking your medicine as prescribed.

Medicine should always be kept out of reach of children, as stated on the product packaging.
