Reason the product is recalled
The product contains a concentration of carbamide peroxide in excess of the recognised safe limit of 18% w/w as set by the Poisons Standard 2011, by expert clinical advice, and in published scientific risk assessments.
The hazards to consumers
The high concentration of carbamide peroxide used in this product can result in injuries such as chemical burns to gums and the mouth. Other potential injuries include blistering or ulceration of the mouth and throat, tooth sensitivity, marbled or unnaturally coloured teeth, tingling around the mouth and headaches.
What consumers should do
Consumers should cease using the product and return it to Ozbrite Pty Ltd, 420 Victoria St., Brunswick VIC 3056.
All returned products will be substituted for 16% Sparkling White Teeth value packs.
