Identifying features
First generation Zipp 88 hubs have a “Z” logo on the retaining rings. No other versions have logos on the retaining rings. The hub shell is silver in colour. The retaining rings are gray in the standard option and gray, red, blue, pink, or gold in the ZedTech options. The outside diameter of the two clinch nuts is approximately 1.14 inches. (29mm)

Reasons the product is recalled

First generation 88 hub retaining rings may fail and this can result in ejection of all the wheel's spokes and subsequent wheel failure.

The hazards to consumers

If the defect occurs, the rider may lose control of the bicycle potentially resulting in a serious fall injury.

• If your front hub is involved in this recall, please stop riding your bicycle immediately until you have received a replacement front hub.
