Product description
This voluntary recall involves the “Step2 Push Around Buggy” and the “Step2 Whisper Ride Buggy” (Buggies). The Buggies are a ride-on toy with a handle that can be pushed by an adult. The toy comes in various colours, such as: green, blue, orange, pink and red. There is a red “Step2” logo on the front of the handle. The toy is intended for children aged 18 months to 3 years.
Reasons the product is recalled
Affected Buggies have pins with yellow knobs on the back of the Buggy. The yellow knob pin can become loose and allow the handle to separate from the Buggy. Buggies with handles attached with a bolt and screw are not affected.
The hazards to consumers
If the handle becomes detached from the Buggy, the adult would not have control over the Buggy. If a child is in the Buggy when the handle detaches, the Buggy could roll away from the adult.
What consumers should do
Consumers should inspect their Buggy. If the Buggy has a pin with a yellow plastic knob, immediately stop using the Buggy and contact your local retailer for a repair kit. Do not use the Buggy until the repair kit is installed.
