Reason the product is recalled
The products contain concentrations of carbamide peroxide in excess of the recognised safe limit of 18% w/w as set by the Poisons Standard 2011, by expert clinical advice, and in published scientific risk assessments.
The hazards to consumers
The user may suffer irritation or inflammation to the gums and mouth due to the excessively high concentrations of carbamide peroxide in the products.
What consumers should do
Consumers should cease using the products immediately. If the products are unused, the consumer may return them for a replacement product that complies with the recognised safe limit. An email will be sent out to affected customers with further details.
