What are the defects?
The gas control valve pressure test point nut may not be correctly tightened.
What are the hazards?
If the test point nut is not correctly tightened, it could cause a gas leak, potentially leading to a fire.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should check the serial number on the label in the interior cabinet of the fridge. If the serial number falls within the range detailed above, consumers should immediately discontinue using the product on gas. Consumers should then go to http://www.thetfordfridgecheck.com to find out if their fridge is included in the recall.
Consumers should then:
1. enter the product serial number and follow the prompts where needed.
2. or call Thetford on 1800 503 100 to check if the fridge is affected.
Consumers will be directed to the nearest authorised service agent to organise a repair.
