Assorted Renegade and Renegade Industrial Portable Air Compressors sold between January 2013 and June 2016.
Why the product is recalled
The maximum design pressure and hydrostatic test pressure stated on the name plates are incorrect and state higher pressures than calculated by design drawings.
What the hazards are to consumers
There is a possibility that after any form of modification to the compressor, its safety features or the pressure vessel, consumers may exceed the maximum pressure of the tank and may cause a rupture to the pressure vessel, potentially injuring those surrounding.
What consumers should do
Consumers must not modify their compressors, safety features or the pressure vessel so that they produce more than 990kpa (143psi) of maximum stored pressure. Owners and users of the affected compressors should visit their nearest TradeTools store to arrange for a new rating plate with the correct lower pressure values to be affixed to their compressors.
