Product description
Bicycles equipped with disc brakes and quick releases with levers that can open far enough to contact the disc brake assembly.
See a list of details to help identify the product.
Reason the product is recalled
When improperly used or left open, the quick release lever may open more than 180° and become caught in the disc brake assembly.
The hazards to consumers
If this occurs, it may result in separation or sudden stoppage of the front wheel. This may cause the rider to lose control of the bicycle posing a serious fall hazard.
What consumers should do
Consumers with an affected Trek model bicycle should stop using their bicycle and take it to a Trek retailer for inspection and, if necessary, replacement of the quick release immediately. Bicycles that have already been fitted with a special quick release with washers will receive a replacement quick release with washers and a different lever.
