Reason the product is recalled
The affected carbon fork steer tube has insufficient strength which might lead to cracks below the stem or spacers. This can lead to a full crack of the tube.
The hazards to consumers
If the fork steer tube cracks while the bicycle is in use it may cause a loss of control of the bicycle, posing a serious risk of injury or death to the rider.
What consumers should do
Consumers should stop using the bicycle and return it to a Merida dealer to have a replacement fork fitted.
