Reason the product is recalled

2015, 2016, 2017 Stance 2 – Handlebar width exceeds the maximum standard requirement.

2017 Embolden 2 - Handlebar width exceeds the maximum standard requirement.

2017 Tempt 1 – Bike is not fitted with a chain guard (all sizes) and the handlebar width exceeds the maximum standard (Small and Medium sized bicycles only).

2017 ToughRoad SLR 0 - Bike is not fitted with a chain guard.

The hazards to consumers

Relevant standards state that maximum overall handlebar width should not exceed 700mm.

Relevant standards require bicycles to have a chain guard to prevent entrapment of clothing or body parts.

No reports of injuries or incidents have been received by Giant.

What consumers should do

Owners should contact the Authorised Giant Retailer who the bike was purchased from or any other Authorised Giant retailer to arrange a time to have the handlebars on their bicycle appropriately modified and or the necessary chain guide fitted.
