The product does not comply with the 'Consumer Goods (Bean Bags) Safety Standard 2014. Consumer Protection Notice No. 4 of 2014 as amended'. The product does not have the correct warning label attached and was sold with a paper clip to facilitate movement of the child resistant fastener.
What are the hazards?
Polystyrene beans may pose a choking/suffocation hazard if they are inhaled, particularly by children aged less than three years.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should contact WA Library Supplies by email sales@walib.com.au or phone (08) 9446 3336 to make arrangements to have the beanbag remediated.
Consumers have the option of returning the beanbags so that an appropriate label can be attached and the paperclip can be removed from the zipper. Alternatively, WA Library Supplies can send consumers a label so that they can attach this themselves. Consumers who chose this option should also remove the paperclip from the zipper themselves.
