Why the product is recalled
The bush at the end of the throttle control lever may not have been installed properly at the factory. This may cause the bush to come loose and possibly catch on the accelerator cam guide.
What the hazards are to consumers
In the worst case this may result in a loss of engine speed control.
What consumers should do
Owners of affected motors will be contacted by Yamaha Motor Australia and should contact their local Yamaha Dealer to set up an appointment to have your unit remedied free of charge. The remedy involves removing the bush from the throttle control lever and installing a new bush, using the proper installation procedure.
