Reason the product is recalled
The front brake attachment bolt may detach, causing the brake to fail.
The hazards to consumers
The front brake can fail. Loss of braking performance in the worst case scenario may lead to loss of control and an accident.
What consumers should do
Consumers with bicycles marked with the above model numbers and serial numbers should immediately stop using the bicycle. Take the bicycle to a Trek retailer for inspection to determine if it is affected by the recall. If the bicycle is affected, Trek will provide a free replacement front brake system.
