Proposed mandatory standard for tobacco labelling (graphic health warnings): consultation paper released

The ACCC has released a consultation paper seeking comments on a proposed mandatory Tobacco Labelling (Graphic Health Warnings) Standard. It is intended to be in place by 1 January 2012, with full compliance required by 1 July 2012.  Interested parties and individuals are invited to provide written submissions by 17 October 2011.

Submissions must be received by the ACCC by 5.00pm on 17 October 2011.

All submissions should be sent to the ACCC either by email to: productsafetytobacco@accc.gov.au or by post to: General Manager, Product Safety Branch, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, GPO Box 3131, Canberra ACT 2601.
