Cyclists can suffer serious injuries if the bicycle they are riding is poorly assembled, in bad condition or doesn't meet the mandatory safety standard. Make sure you buy a bicycle with the required safety features.
Self-balancing scooters are a recreational transport device, generally popular among children. They are also known as hoverboards, monoboards, gliders, smart boards, sky walkers and mod boards.
The mandatory standard was introduced on 18 December 2019 and prescribes requirements for the design, construction and performance of miniature motorbikes, as well as accompanying safety warnings and user manual.
This research was funded by the ACCC to better understand the risks and harms of motorised mobility scooters from the perspective of a consumer product safety regulator.
