Identifying features

Item No.: 158-1. 158-2. 258-1. 258-2
Manufacture date: June 2013

What are the defects?

Canterbury Cot does not comply with the mandatory Australian standard AS/NZS 2172:2003. There were multiple failures but the most concerning breaches relate to the strength of the access fastening device, which could be inadvertently lowered making it possible for a child to open the side of the cot.

What are the hazards?

The cot fails to comply with the safety and performance, design, informative labelling and marking requirements of the mandatory standard. The product poses numerous risks, in particular the risk of falls, suffocation and entrapment.

What should consumers do?

All affected customers who have not already destroyed the cot and received a refund should:
• Stop using the cot immediately.
• Not re-gift or sell any used cots.
• Contact Savingforaussie to arrange for their cot(s) to be collected and destroyed (at no expense) and for a full refund or new replacement cot.
