The cylinders were possibly available for purchase between 1.7.03 - 3.7.03 from BOC Gas & Gear Stores or BOC Gas Agents in NSW/ACT. Affected Acetylene Cylinders have Batch Numbers (see sticker on cylinder): WP040G9 290603, WPO40E6 290603, WP040E12, WP040E.
Reasons the product is recalled
Off-Specification Acetylene Cylinders. Some Acetylene Cylinders may be contaminated by very low levels of air. A mixture of air and acetylene in a cylinder could be dangerous under certain circumstances.
What consumers should do
The off-specification acetylene cylinder(s) should not be used. They should be clearly quarantined from other cylinders to ensure they are not accidentally used. You should immediately contact BOC by calling Customer Service Centre on 131 262. BOC will
