Reasons the product is recalled

(a) one side of the bed has a raised edge side only – a guardrail is necessary to prevent the likelihood of a child rolling out of the bed or slipping down between the bed and a wall and being trapped by his/her head; (b) the width of the stair access is too wide by 600 mm (it must have a minimum width of 300 mm and a maximum of 400 mm) – the purpose of the prescribed width is to prevent a child from rolling or falling out of the bed;(c) there is a gap formed between the guardrail and the head end of the bed that is too wide by 150 mm (it must have a minimum width of 230 mm but not more than 400 mm) - the purpose of the prescribed gap is to prevent a child from rolling or falling out of the bed; (d) the gap between the guardrails is too substantial as it allows the passage of a 95 mm diameter probe – the purpose of a prescribed gap width of less 95 mm is to prevent a child from slipping between the gaps and potentially trapping or strangling himself/herself; and (e) the maximum mattress height and importer’s name and address were not marked on the bunk beds.
