Consumer Affairs Director Dr Claire Noone has supported the decision of MacLaren prams being recalled in Australia, after it was reported they pose a risk of fingertip amputation to young children.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has gained a product recall from a party horn supplier after tests revealed it to present a choking hazard for children under the age of three.
"The safety of children is paramount and this is reflected in tomorrow's voluntary recall of faulty cots," ACCC Deputy Chairman, Mr Peter Kell, said today.
"Today's recall of children's flotation devices is a timely reminder of the danger water can present to children. We must always supervise young children around swimming pools, dams and at the beach," Australian Competition and Consumer Commission Deputy Chairman, Mr Peter Kell, said today.
