What are the defects?
When the product is folded into the 6 months+ mode it does not comply with the mandatory standard 'Trade Practices Act 1974 - Consumer Protection Notice No. 8 of 2007 - Consumer Product Safety Standard: Prams and Strollers'. The product does not come with the required brake, tether strap and warning labels.
What are the hazards?
When used as a stroller to transport children, the product may cause injury to a child if the product rolls in an uncontrolled manner or if the child falls out of the product.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should not use the product as a stroller to transport children.
Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us have ceased trading worldwide and are now in administration.
The business operating under the name Toys “R” Us in Australia from 2019 is not connected to the original business and so cannot assist with this recall.
Consumers who purchased the product from Toys “R” Us believing that it was a stroller or could be used as a stroller should contact SmarTrike at help@smart-trike.com to arrange a refund.
