This safety alert was published to direct enquiries about voluntary consumer safety recalls of agricultural and veterinary chemical products to the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority website.
As of 27 March, 2023, the majority of new voluntary recalls of consumer goods regulated by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) will no longer also be published by the ACCC on the ACCC Product Safety website.
Voluntary recalls of consumer goods that are agricultural and veterinary chemical products will be published by the APVMA on the APVMA website.
The ACCC will only continue to assess and publish voluntary recalls of agricultural and veterinary chemical products if the goods are also subject to an Australian Consumer Law Safety Standard or Ban.
For suppliers: submitting voluntary recalls of agricultural and veterinary chemical consumer goods
There is no change to processes for suppliers. Suppliers of agricultural and veterinary chemical consumer goods subject to recall will continue to notify and provide information about the recalled goods to the APVMA.
