The Federal Government has extended the national interim ban on a range of dangerous synthetic drugs and will commence the process to put in place a permanent ban.
All States and Territories except New South Wales have now updated their drug enforcement laws to outlaw these forms of synthetic drugs.
By extending the interim ban, which expires today, for another 30 days and commencing the process to put in place a permanent ban, the Federal Government will ensure there are no gaps in drug enforcement or product safety laws that could allow these synthetic drugs to return to the market.
