Samsung is currently investigating reported issues with replacement Galaxy Note7 phones provided as a remedy following the recall on 6 September 2016.

The ACCC is working closely with Samsung on this development.

Samsung has requested retailers and phone carriers globally to stop selling or exchanging all Galaxy Note 7s and is recommending that consumers choose a refund.

The ACCC is urging consumers with Samsung Galaxy Note7 devices to:

  • power down their phone and stop using it
  • visit their place of purchase OR call Samsung Customer Service on 1300 362 603 to obtain a refund

Remedy options under the recall include a full refund or exchange for purchased Galaxy Note7 phones.
