About orphan vehicles
Some grey imported vehicles with defective Takata airbags are categorised as ‘orphan’ vehicles. This means the vehicle is not associated with a particular supplier.
This may be because the vehicle was imported into Australia by a business acting as an agent for a third party or individual, or the grey importer that originally imported the vehicle is no longer operational.
