Consumer Affairs Director Dr Claire Noone has supported the decision of MacLaren prams being recalled in Australia, after it was reported they pose a risk of fingertip amputation to young children.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has gained a product recall from a party horn supplier after tests revealed it to present a choking hazard for children under the age of three.
A second recall of unsafe child car restraints by online traders has prompted a serious safety alert from Australian Competition and Consumer Commission Deputy Chair, Peter Kell.
"The safety of children is paramount and this is reflected in tomorrow's voluntary recall of faulty cots," ACCC Deputy Chairman, Mr Peter Kell, said today.
Internet toy traders have been reminded they must meet mandatory safety standards for their products after hazardous toys were made available on websites.
