Reason the product is recalled
If a Thermomix TM31 with a grey lid seal is operated at high RPMs (i.e. at a speed of 4 or above) and then is immediately switched to the ‘lid open’ position, the lid may quickly release and liquid or food may escape from the mixing bowl.
The hazards to consumers
If liquid or food escapes from the mixing bowl, this could lead to scalding or burning to the user or bystanders. People have reported being burned or scalded when using the Thermomix in these circumstances.
What consumers should do
Consumers should immediately stop using affected TM31 appliances with a grey sealing ring in the lid of the mixing bowl. Consumers should contact The Mix Australia for a replacement sealing ring on 1800 004 838.
