Hydraulic fitting featuring a pressure checked point to allow for ease of access to hydraulic system pressures for testing and sampling puposes.

This fitting employs a 9/16" UNF threaded female nut as the means of attachment to a hydraulic system.

Reason the product is recalled

This part features a nut restrained by a wire nail.

A defective swivel nut has been used where the groove for the wire nail is too large and could lead to a situation where the test point body can not be properly held under pressure.

The hazards to consumers

A possibilty exists that the test point body could leak or, in some cases be expelled from the fitting creating an impact hazard to persons and property.

What consumers should do

Immediately cease use of the part.

Remove the part from service and return it to point of sale for free replacement.

Only fittings sold in Zinc Nickel plated finish since 1st. March 2008 are affected. Zinc Nickel surface finish has a grey appearance. Prior to March 2008 these parts were supplied in surface finish (A3C) which has a yellow colour and is not affected by this recall.
