Reason the product is recalled
The cells used in the battery packs are substandard and possibly counterfeit. Polycom in the US has received one report of a battery pack overheating and causing minor property damage.

What consumers should do
Remove the battery pack from the SoundStation 2W phone unit immediately and do not attempt to use it with any other product. Visit http://www.polycom.com/2Wbattery to fill out a form requesting Polycom to send a replacement battery pack free of charge or call (02)9978 8098. After receiving the replacement battery pack, place the old battery pack in the shipping box or reply paid envelope supplied, attach the included pre-paid return tag and return it to Polycom so the battery pack can be recycled properly.
