Reason the product is recalled
Short circuiting of the battery pack of the electronic speed control had resulted in rapid failure of the wiring due to very large currents. With the wheels locked and full acceleration applied, the large currents had resulted in failure of the connections within the battery pack. It was possible to simulate a foreseeable use scenario which resulted in combustion of the battery pack connector which consequently ignited the chassis of the vehicle. Failures of the battery wiring and battery pack connector indicate these parts are under-rated for the current likely in foreseeable use.
