The Merida Speeder 20-D is a 700c, flat bar road bike, whose main purpose is recreational riding and commuting. The frame and fork are manufactured from steel and it comes equipped with Shimano 24 speed gears and disc brakes.

Reason the product is recalled

The fork dropout safety tabs may not be sufficient to hold the front wheel in position if the quick release lever is opened while the bicycle is in use.

The hazards to consumers

This can cause a loss of control of the bicycle, posing a risk of serious injury or death to the rider.

What consumers should do

Consumers should stop using the bicycle immediately. Consumers should contact their local Merida retailer to arrange for a full refund, or to have the bicycle inspected and the fork replaced if required.
