Reasons the product is recalled
Product is potentially dangerous if used without restraining the infant with the safety harness. Infants may roll from their backs to their stomach or side while unrestrained.
Over 30 infant fatalities have occurred overseas, since 2009, in Rock ‘n Play Sleepers, after the infants rolled over while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.
Around 4,000 units were supplied in Australia between 1 Jan 2010 and 31 Dec 2013.
The hazards to consumers
There is a risk of suffocation if infants roll from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, which can result in severe injury or death.
