Reason the product is recalled

The jack provided with the Nissan F16 Juke MY2020 does not comply with the mandatory standard for vehicle jacks 'Trade Practices Act 1974 Consumer Protection Notice No. 1 of 2010 Consumer Product Safety Standard for Vehicle Jacks'.

The jack label does not include the required safety markings showing the model or model designations of vehicles for the jack's intended use (clause 7.1.2(b)). The jack is not labelled as being for the F16 Juke.

The hazards to consumers

The jack must not be used with vehicles other than the F16 Juke and absence of model designation may result in inappropriate use of the jack. Use with inappropriate vehicles may lead to a serious accident or death of a user if a vehicle collapses on them.

What consumers should do

Nissan will contact affected vehicle owners in writing. Consumers will be advised to contact their Nissan Dealer to organise for the correct jack label to be attached to the vehicle jack, at no cost to owners.

For further information, consumers can contact the Nissan Customer Service Centre on 1800 035 035 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6pm AEST).
